Maci Smith

INSTRUCTOR

Maci has been dancing since she was 10 years old and instantly fell in love with the art. As a young dancer, she danced on a competitive dance team for 4 years, and after graduating high school in 2010 Maci trained and performed at both San Francisco State University and Modesto Junior College. Ever since she began dancing, Maci has had the opportunity to take classes throughout the Bay Area and Los Angeles to further her training and knowledge. Maci attributes her overwhelming love of dance to the constant inspiration that dance conventions have provided her throughout her life as well as the consistency, stability, and happiness that dance has been for her.

Maci began teaching hip hop when she was just 14 years old and has continued to train as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer ever since. Maci specializes in both teaching and dancing contemporary and jazz. Since she began teaching dance, she has had the opportunity to teach both throughout the Central Valley and in Philadelphia, PA. Maci strives to teach her students proper technique while instilling a passion for dance that will stay with her students forever.

Maci attended Pitman High School, San Francisco State University, Modesto Junior College and CSU Stanislaus where she earned her BA in Communication Studies. She lives in Turlock with her husband Nick, daughter Everly, and dog Luna. Besides dance, Maci loves music, Diet Pepsi, shopping, and decorating. Maci can't imagine doing anything else and plans to be a dance teacher for the rest of her life. "There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them."
