Emily York
INSTRUCTOR
Emily grew up in Escalon, California. Her love for dance all started when she got her first Barbie radio and turned her bathroom into her dance room. She used the radio to her advantage and created her own dance routines in front of the bathroom mirror. At the age of 6, her mother finally put her into dance classes at 5678 Dance Studio. She had learned a variety of dance styles and was part of the Showstoppers Competition team for six years. Emily had gained a greater appreciation for dance and wanted to share her passion with other students at the dance studio.
Emily has always had an active lifestyle. Other than dance, she has participated in her community’s local sport teams. She also participated in marching and concert band throughout her time in the Escalon school district.
Emily attended CSU Stanislaus and graduated with a BA in Kinesiology. During college she joined a Bollywood dance group called Tashan. She has performed in many competitions, wedding receptions, and birthday parties with this dance group. The group even competed in Valley’s Got Talent. She is currently teaching physical education in the Salida Union School District and is sharing her love of dance with her students.
