We know that all of our students will enjoy their first week of classes.  We would like to welcome back all of our returning students and would like to also welcome all of our new students and their families.  We have an exciting new year in store for everyone.

 

About Us : 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio was established in the fall of 1994 by sisters, Danette Tomasello and Tamie Griffith.  Over the past fifteen years they have been able to establish a dance program to instill the love of dance in their students.

5*6*7*8 Dance Studio offers dance instruction for students eighteen months of age through adult. Our curriculum includes:  pre-dance, ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, lyrical and hip-hop.  In all of these classes, the students will be exposed to technique, musicality and artistic expression that make dance classes at 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio an enjoyable and positive and experience for the mind and body. 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio is home to the Showstopper Dance Company.   The Showstopper Company is an accelerated program for student’s age 6 and older.  The company is designed for the more serious and gifted dancer who wishes to study all styles of dance training and have additional performance opportunities in all areas of dance. Whether your dream is to become a "professional dancer" or just to experience the joy of "dancing" we hope we can help you fulfill your dreams.

 

Newsletters & Web Site : 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio provides monthly and semi monthly newsletters.  These newsletters will be your best source of information regarding dates and details throughout the year.   Newsletters will be posted at the studio, online and emailed to all accounts.  5*6*7*8 Dance Studio is trying to go “paperless” as much as possible so in addition to posting the newsletter you can go online and click on the newsletter and print out your own copy at home.  In addition to our newsletter, 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio also has a website, www.5678dancemodesto.com.  Our website will help keep you informed of upcoming events and increase communication.  Please feel free throughout the year to email us in regards to any questions and or concerns that you may have.  If your question is in regards to billing, you can inquire at the front desk or at info@5678dancemodesto.com

Studio D : We have three classrooms at our main facility at 1369 Standiford, Studio A, B and C.  Studio D is located at 1411 Standiford which is adjacent to our current studio.  Studio D is used mainly for our company classes.  However, a few of our recreational classes are being instructed at Studio D.  Studio D is for instruction only.  There is no lobby at this studio.  We ask that dancers wait outside until their class begins.  Students may also enter at the back of the building and wait in the waiting area.

 

Videotaping and Photos : There is no videotaping of class instruction.  All photos need to be taken outside of the classroom.  We know that our Pre dance and Dance Level I parents would like to document their “first day of class”.  Instructors will allow parents to enter the last 3 minutes to take photos the week of September 8^th.  So please have your cameras ready to go!

Dancer of the Month : To keep everyone motivated and performing to the best of their ability each month our instructors will nominate a student of their choice for dancer of the month.  Tamie and Danette will review their nominations and select one dancer for this honor.  The dancer of the month will receive a $30 gift certificate to be used to purchase 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio Apparel.  At the end of the season, all seven recipients will be considered for a $200 gift certificate to be used to Summer School Tuition.  Each month you can nominate your favorite 5*6*7*8 Dance Studio instructor.  They will receive a $30 gift certificate to a restaurant or movie theatre of their choice.

The studio will also be open on Fridays from 3:00-7:00 p.m the weeks of October 4^th – 24^th.

 

Tuition : Please keep in mind that tuition payments are due on the 1^st of every month for the following month and will be considered late on the 16^th.  For example:  September tuition due by August 15^th, October tuition is due by September 15^th etc.  A late fee of $10 or 10% (whichever is greater) will be applied to your account automatically. 

·         Make a payment at the front desk.

·         Make a payment on line.

·         Mail payment to:  5678 Dance Studio, 1369 Standiford Ave, Modesto, Ca 95350 Remember to mail checks in before the 15^th! 

·         Set up an automatic withdrawal from your credit or debit card. (Forms are available at the front desk.)

 

Fall Dance Camp : We would like to invite all of our students to our Fall Dance Camp.  Classes will be held on Friday evenings and begin October 4^th and conclude on October 24^th.  This session is for new and current dancers.

 

Dress Code: As in our studio policies, students need to wear the correct dance shoes and attire.  Students not dressed properly will be asked to sit out.  Ballet students level II and above, need to wear pink tights, black leotard (any style), hair in bun, and pink ballet slippers.  Students Ballet I and below must wear leotard, (any color and style), pink tights and pink ballet slippers (skirt is optional), with hair in bun or ponytail.  Jazz students can wear any style of dance clothes with black jazz shoes. (Hip Hop sneakers are not appropriate for this class).  For all other styles of dance, hair needs to be pulled half up, in ponytail, or bun.  Dance attire needs to be form fitting.  This will allow instructor to correct body placement.  If you have any questions, please refer to www.5678dancemodesto.com, under dress code, or ask your child’s instructor.  Boys cannot wear jeans to class.  The need to wear black cut off sweats with a t-shirt or tank top and black jazz/tap shoes. 

Costume Deposits: Costumes will be ordered on November 1, 2008.  This will allow adequate time for us to receive costumes in time for pictures and our 2009 Annual Dance Production.  You may pay the entire amount by November 1st or may we suggest making 3 monthly payments. 

·         Pre Dance & Level I $55            ($20 Sept.), ($20 Oct.), ($15 Nov.)

·         Level A & II $65                            ($25 Sept.), ($20 Oct.), ($20 Nov.)

·         Level B, C, D III & IV $75             ($25 Sept.), ($25 Oct.), ($25 Nov.)

For XLA-XXXLA additional fees will be added in December. We will not be able to order your costume(s) until your balance is paid in full. 

 

This year our annual dance performance will be held on May 15^th & 16^th.  Our dress rehearsal will be held on Saturday May 9^th.  Further details in regards to our 15^th Annual Dance Performance will be in future newsletters.

 

·         Please keep all food, candy, and drinks outside of the studio.

·         Please do not move chairs in the lobby.                                                          

·         Please remind children that the studio is not a playground.                                        

·         Please remind children to place dance bags under the chairs.  This will allow others to sit on the other chairs provided.                                             

·         Please also don’t move the chairs around the lobby area.  Keep them in the spot they were found.   Also due to fire code and liability please do not bring      personal chairs into studio.  

·         Please keep baby strollers and roller skates outside the studio as we have much traffic coming in and out of the studio and they obstruct the lobby.      

·         Please place dirty diapers in a zip lock bag if you will be leaving it in the trash.                                                                                                        

·         Please do not wear your dance shoes outside.  This will keep our dance floors in good condition.                                                                                

·         Please keep all pets outside.  We have several dancers who are highly allergic to animal hair.                                                                                   

·         Please do not leave children who are not enrolled in classes at the studio unattended.                                                                                                  

·         Parents please do not enter the classrooms unless invited by the instructor.
